Young Entrepeneur for Society (YES) Competition.
Met up with the other team members at Woodlands/Sembawang today, in the early morning. Headed to Dover Mrt Station and took a short walk to Singapore Polytechnic.
Celestine, Shan Shan, XinYi, YuJie and I participated in this business competition or you can call it entrepeneurship. Though we didn't get into the finalists and did not manage to get the prize, we weren't upset, as it was a good experience and we had lots of fun.

At the start, there were talks, introducing us to their School of Business. Almost convincing some of us to join them the following year after graduation. Ha. Later, entertainment with a game. The game was kinda horrible for me 'cos I was being chosen to participate in it. ON STAGE. Which I was really unwilling to. Furthermore, there were like more than 200 people in the Auditorium? Gosh!
It was something like a 'Couple Game' where the guy chose 8 boys and girls each. Then the boys would have to face the screen while the girls faced the audience. The men will then act out what's on the screen to the girls without talking and the ladies would have to guess and shout out what it was. As for me, I was trembling like mad. My knees were vibrating really quickly. Truthfully, I didn't know why I was so nervous. I could feel butterflies in my stomach. I was continuously, mentally, shouting at my legs, getting them to stop shaking. Finally, it did, after calming down. Well, I just hoped nobody saw the nervousness in me or it'll be utterly embarrassing.
At the end of the game, they gave each of the participants an organic bag from Topshop. Pretty cool.
Well well, my so called 'couple' guy, was not bad looking. Laughs! But he looked really familiar to me, it's like I've seen him somewhere before and I just couldn't remember it. Got really fustrated, making me think for such a long time, by and by I gave up racking my brains.
Before the start of the game, the 'couple' guy was like asking me which school I was from and what was my name. So maybe we didn't know each other at all. Perhaps I was thinking too much. Or, I have a friend who looks similar to him. AHH, I don't care anymore! I shall put this matter aside now.

When everything was about to be over, they allowed the finalists to perform then the judges decided on who the runner-ups and the champion would be. There was the giving out of prizes and a lucky draw. There were about 200 plus plus students participating in the lucky draw and there were only 5 prizes to be won. Haha, it was a really hard chance to get it. I wasn't really keen on it, even though the prize was some Topshop stuff worth of $80.
And guess what?! While I was having a conversation with Celestine, I heard my name being called out and I was overwhelmed and startled. Then I could hear Celestine and Shan Shan screaming at me: "You're so lucky!"
Being curious, I looked into the Topshop paper bag to see what was its contents. (-.-) They gave another 2 of the organic bags which I already had 1, the other time that I got from the game. There was a scarf too, which wasn't to my liking. There were 2 Topshop notebooks too. They could come in handy. To sum it all up, among all those stuff in that bag, I only liked the notebooks. I can't believe all these could cost up to $80. It sounds incredulous!
Anyways, I really had fun today. However, my body is really running out of energy soon, feeling really beat now. I guess it was due to the lack of sleep and the whole range of activities arranged for the day. This event took up one whole day, but the timing seemed to pass in a flash. Weird.
One more thing, I almost forgot to mention was when we started registrating, we were given a goodie bag each. It contained a can of milo, snack, flyers, feedback form, lucky draw form, badge, and a t-shirt with Milo's sponsor. Just wanted to say, I don't think any of my friends including me will wear that shirt out of house. More likely, it'll be worn at home. Haha!
Some pictures of our 'fake' product:
Haha, we used this cardboard which was actually used to store our tea break food to make our product. Not bad eh? We didn't bring any materials at all and yet we still managed to finish our product. I thought that was really wonderful. And our group was rushing all the way, due to insufficient preparation beforehand, yet again, we managed to finish all our tasks. Great teamwork! :)

Lastly, our idea was actually about 95% SIMILAR to the champion's! -.-' We could have gotten that $2000! Either the judges were bias or our presentation wasn't informative enough. At least the idea was good, a winner's idea. It's alright. It's over already! We'll wait for next year! HAHA.
P/S: Sorry for the wordy post. I didn't know I'd typed so much until I scrolled up to check my post. Whoops! I just typed whatever that was in my head just now. So, hope you'll understand!
Byebye, love 'ya. Enjoy your holidays! :)
