My holidays so far...
Currently enjoying my Year 2 Semester 1 holidays in poly with only 6 days left of freedom but I'm pretty much contented that I can gladly say, 'I'm ready for school (semester 2) to start.'
I've never spent my holidays so wisely before, it has been a blast these 2 months. I really made use of my time by working and playing hard - spending quality time with my family and friends. *pats self on the back*
Ever since the holidays began, I had a lot of good food, which explains why I'm gaining weight and not losing 'em fats. I've been visiting my friends' houses, been reading, playing music, catching movies, cooking -- basically doing a lot of things that I don't usually do. Really glad that I've tried out so many new things during this holiday!
I also have this tingling feeling that October is gonna be an awesome month because it started off well and is still good. Plus, I can't wait for November because I'll be turning 18 on the 21st. Hope everything goes well so that the year 2013 will end on a good note!
Just gonna sum up how I've spent this holidays with pictures. (Events dated rom earliest to latest)
Thanks for reading! x

*Everything (mainly food) here was a first for me.
This was at ZX's house, we were still having our exams (last paper to go) but we were already in the midst of the holiday mood and since we ended our paper early, we caught Conjuring and played instruments!
Met up twice with the homies right after holidays started. First one was to just eat to our heart's content and the second was to catch Elysius, had my virgin try on BFF and Paris Baguette with them. ♡
Din Tai Fung with the mama! Virgin try again. The Xiao Long Baos were amazebeans. I kinda miss having so much of it back in Shanghai in 2010!
Made sushi with momma. I must say, our first attempt was really successful!
49 Seats' Aglio Olio was yummy.
@ 49 Seats!
Back to school to volunteer for the Innovation Bootcamp 2013 for the Year 1s (4 - 7 September)! Got the opportunity to be an OGL which I wouldn't be able to have this experience in SBM Club. I'm missing this bootcamp. Lucky bunch of Year 1s who got to complete their GSM in 2 days. Haha!
Made my own Magnum (literally)! And off to Siloso beach we went!
Oh, how I love the beach! Going there again this Friday! *stoked*
Practiced for my Grade 5 piano exam and yayers I passed!
Utilised my time after work and managed to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with my homies! It felt so good to feel like a kid again, to play with candles and sparks.
KOREAN BBQ. Gosh, I miss those bacons.
And then to Bedok Simpang to chill and eat! (picture below)
Second FOOD ADVENTURE. Yes, it was a major cafe hopping adventure.
First stop was to Wimbly Lu!
Wimbly Lu: I personally love the Molten Lava Cake. The oozing chocolate, OMG.
Second stop was to Cake Spade! Pastries were alright.
Third stop was to Group Therapy!
Group Therapy: Their pastries were only average.
Fourth stop was to Grin Affair. Their cakes in a jar did not disappoint me! I tried the Strawberry and Cookies & Cream flavours.
Fifth Stop was to Plain Vanilla Bakery! Nah, still not a fan of cupcakes.
Final stop, #6, was to The Daily Scoop! I still prefer Gelateria Italia. Mm.
So happy I found the Arizona Green Tea in one of the cafes when you could only find them in the States! I'm not a fan of tea nor coffee, especially green tea but oh boy, this green tea is different and tastes better too! I love the bottle, yes, I kept it.
Ice-skated! Pretty good for my first time since I've roller-bladed once or twice but there's so much more room for improvement. I fell down 3 times, the first 2 times weren't that bad because I managed to fall in slow motion but the last fall hurt my tailbone. I couldn't move for 15 seconds when I fell on my ass and I just had to fall that hard when I was about to leave the rink. 3 days has passed and it still hurts when I walk, sit, squat and bend. I hope it recovers soon.
Did my nails before I headed to the East earlier today! It wasn't done so well because I was in a rush and the nails on my left hand always looks more unsightly than the right hand (because I'm a left-hander). And I can't stand it when it's almost perfect but the paint is not dry yet then it gets RUINED because you touched something. But I couldn't be bothered by how rough the manicure/pedicure looks and so I didn't touch it up. Girls, do you feel me?
Grocery shopping for our baking necessities and ingredients!
Only planned to bake the crumble today but baked 2 pastries in the end. It was a good experience, fell in love with baking even before I tried baking.
First up for #AlexisBakes in the cookbook was the Wholewheat Blueberry Crumble!
Weighed the ingredients and we were ready to mix them.
Final product! Crispy on the top and soft inside.
Next up in the cookbook was brownies!
Chocolate madness! It wasn't really sweet but I liked it that way! Could have been softer, I'll try this again next time if I can because it's easy to bake.
Munching on my favourite cookies while grocery shopping, I just can't stop eating guys.
I'll upload the Cinnamon Challenge in the next post, stay tuned!
