Celebrated my first Thanksgiving in Germany last night (27/11/14)!
Omg, there was so much food, I'll just let the food pictures do the talking.
Deviled eggs and salad in the front.
Mashed potato, ham and Korean pancake thingy.
Baked Potato Salad and Sauce made from Turkey's Juice
Onion rings with Green Bean Casseroles
Stuffings
Had this Apple Strudel with ice cream!
Of course, we cannot forget the turkey (which was already chopped into parts)!
Poland dish, tasted like dumplings, which were good!
Broccoli baked with cheese
Our lovely couple
Pumpkin pie
Apple Crumble Pie
Chocolate cake and yogurt!
Our house was a tad too small to fit more than 20 of us but we managed! Fit 4 tables in the spaces of the girl's (upper) level, we didn't have enough seats and barely had space to move around the hall. I ended up standing most of the time but it was good, helped me from digesting the food I devoured...
Never celebrated Thanksgiving before because we (or my family that is) don't do it, it's not exactly part of our culture or tradition to do so. Still, we must give thanks in all circumstances.
Although, I've been spending my time here in another part of the world, I want to thank my parents for giving me the support and opportunity to study abroad, live abroad and travel for half the year.
I am also thankful for the wonderful friends that I have with me in this Junior Program.
My dear buddy wanted to take a picture to send it to her girl friends ("Because I love your beautiful hair" – Caro) and Chris sneaked his face into the picture. One of her girl friends then commented that she is more interested in the background. HAHA.
Party @ Vierzehn after the Thanksgiving dinner.
We left the house at 11:15pm where Margaux drove us to the club/bar. I don't know who the guy on the left was (can't remember his name when he introduced himself) but he was constantly dancing with us and joining the group. And I was taking a Snapchat of the surroundings when he asked, "Selfie?" so I was like hm, okay no harm for a selfie and there we have it – multiple selfies taken, yay!
It wasn't an awesome night but it was still fun with the great company!
So now that I am done with my post on this BEAUTIFUL school-less Friday, I have to research and complete the group assignment for Accounting and then start revising Macroeconomics... Too much studying to do. I've got 4 FINALS all in a week, within 2 days! That's a German final on Wednesday (just did a German test 2 weeks ago) & 3 consecutive papers on Thursday!
It has come to my realisation that we are only left with 2 days of school before taking the finals on Wednesday and Thursday, holy moly. I am secretly hoping that the Taxation class will be cancelled tomorrow (Saturday) like how it did today. But man, the semester sure passed in a flash!! I can't wait for the exams to be over but at the same time I don't want the semester to end just yet................
Time to do some work and then I'll be visiting Mosbach's very own Christmas Market in the evening! Tschüss :-)
