Interested in affordable trips to Germany? Check out some of these travel tips/packages!
Okay, so I'm gonna write a quick post of my day so far and what I did during the past 2 days!
Imma do this in 40 minutes because I have a Thanksgiving dinner at 7:30pm and then a Hüttenparty thereafter. We just got some some good news that CLASS IS CANCELLED tomorrow (due to unwell professor). TGIF & all-day Christmas Market tomorrow hell yeah. We don't have to worry about the dread of waking up early for school after a crazy night, now we can party the night away! Plus, the Christmas Market opens tomorrow so let's celebrate the awesome Friday.
Heute, Schule ist sehr langweilig!
The E-Commerce class is so boring, oh god. My friends were reading my blog during class and were giggling at the funny selfies! I remembered the professor asking who was working on a blog and Dilara went, 'Alexis!' HAHA. Ben has a blog too, you guys.
Perfect day for a cuppa!
Guessed this helped got me through the rest of the afternoon today.
Thank you for the Schoko Lolly!

This week has been REALLY laid back. There was no school on Tuesday and Wednesday (plus Friday, tomorrow YAY).
I personally believe that REAL TRAVEL is not just about seeing the tourist spots but what lies underneath all that. I told myself I had to experience the German family culture and tradition when I'm here! And on Monday & Tuesday, I did just that. I was really pleased to get an invitation to stay over Scania's home (1D1N) in a rural village @ Neustadt an der Aisch, located in Bavaria (Germany). Left house at 6pm, Monday evening and it was a 2.5 hour drive to her house.
German's house decorations!
I loved the staircase!
I was greeted warmly by her parents before her mother showed me the guest room.
Settled down before going back downstairs to have some peppermint tea with homemade gingerbread cookies and chit chat session with Scania and her parents while we waited for her sister (studying in Nürnberg) to return home. Dipped the cookies into the peppermint tea and it was so warm and good ahhh.
Tried the typical Franconia white wine (also where they came from) and it was superb!
I also tried some California wine, it was dry but still good, it took me by surprise.
Simple dinner with sandwiches (freshly baked bread, different varieties of meat, cheese, etc.) The bread was really good because they baked it on their own! They make so many things themselves, like the cookies. It was really cool, they had a bread maker and cutter too, which made it easier.
It's a joke that they shared with me about the pronunciation of English words. There's your clue, now try pronouncing 'GHOTI'!
Called it an early night and woke up to a pretty view of the garden(?) outside the dining room.
They have a room just for the laundry. The house was big and they even had the 3rd level vacant...
Breakfast! Had the jam and cheese with the tasty homemade bread ah I've missed ya!
A HORSE BARN RIGHT BESIDE THEIR HOUSE.
Yes, they own a horse barn with 4 horses! Actually, one pony (white) and 3 horses. Scania showed me some tricks that the horses could do. She and her family keep the horses as pets and trains them omg it took me some time to accept that info...
She was my favourite (oops, I forgot her name). Her skin was so nice to touch, it was silky and cuddly!
Sadly, I didn't have the chance to ride on the horses but it was nice to look at horses that up close (can't remember the last time I interacted with horses, such a long time ago).
The view outside her house. It was a small village, even the house wifi was bad...
TREE HOUSE, I got so excited when I found it HAHA
Scania's home (from the outside)
Had salad, potatoes and Nürnberg bratwurst (Neustadt is really close to Nürnberg, 20 mins drive) for lunch!
Said goodbye to the horses before heading off! Really thankful for the hospitality!! :-)
Accompanied Scania to her former secondary school to do her presentation on DHBW. The environment of the school is different and I was just looking around the school like a visitor HAHA.
Took a look at the Schloss Schwazenburg (Castle called the 'Black Hill') in Scheinfeld, Franken.
Walked the inner city of Scheinfeld, it was a really small city, that was the only street! On the right, is a typical Franconian house.
Took the train back alone to Mosbach because Scania was only intending to return to Mosbach on Wednesday night. Came back home a few minutes past 8pm and prepared for the birthday party for the November kids! Unfortunately, Christine was absent :-( And I managed to do my nails (DIY)! – princessy pink polka dots, I'm lovin' it!
(Wearing the bunny balls headband given by the French sista!)
I just realised my lips look weird here... Some strange colour effect from nowhere?
Had to drink 3 birthday shots... and then I had a glass of really good French champagne!
Did nothing much on the no-school Wednesday but I felt accomplished because I finally shipped 20kg parcel back to Singapore!!! It felt good to have an errand checked off the list even though my plans to study Macroeconomics for the day didn't work out AT ALL still...yayers.
Okay, chao! Gonna have a good night of Thanksgiving and partying right now.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, ALL.
